SurfOnGuard acts like a Dutch Uncle to your Internet Explorer or AOL. When it is there, your browser dare not misbehave. You will not be bothered by unsolicited pop-overs or pop-unders. You will not be bothered by animated ads or narcissistic Flash intros if you choose not to. You can also make it draconian and block unsolicited Desktop popups such as Windows Messenger popups and Tooltips(Yes, including that annoying, animated "Office Assistant.")
SurfOnGuard can also block rich media ads. This one-of-a-kind feature works with both Internet Explorer and AOL browser. Under this broad category, you can select to block animated GIF's, background audio, Java applets, Macromedia Flash, inline images or videos.
All these options can be changed on the fly. Occasionally, SurfOnGuard may, by default, block a popup link you actually intend to open -- a CNN gallery slide show, for example. Do not panic. There is no need to close SurfOnGuard , or to change its setting for that matter. SurfOnGuard provides two easy ways to temporarily "lift" blocking:
1. Triple-click a link. Or
2. Press and hold down the Ctrl or Shift key while clicking a link or a button.
In addition, it has never been easier to manage your surfing related files with SurfOnGuard . It takes just one click to either inspect or delete the contents of Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, History, My Favorites, Temp folder, Typed URLs, File Shortcuts and Recycle Bin.
