The first method that most Windows users resort to is using the Add or Remove Programs feature. You can open this feature either from the Control Panel or by running the Appwiz.cpl command. Now, suppose you want to remove Yahoo toolbar, scroll through the Currently installed programs list in the Add or Remove Programs window, select the entry for Yahoo toolbar and then choose the Remove button.
Although the Add and Remove Programs utility is quite useful in removing most software programs from your system, it often fails in performing a complete removal, especially of large software such as Norton and Adobe products and other stubborn programs, such as spyware and adware programs. To counter these problems, software manufacturers will make their own uninstaller programs to enable you to ensure a complete removal of their products.
